How Depression Works in the Brain

In a beauty pageant, one of the lovely candidates was asked which one is more important, the heart or the brain? The candidate answered “the brain”. According to that candidate, the brain is the “be all and all of a person”. The brain dictates over anything else. Without the brain, there would be a bunch of idiots settling in the universe.

Even though the candidate did not bring home the crown, her answer was definitely right. The brain is the most brilliant part of the body. It is the most highly regarded with liberty. It has the capacity to think and imagine things beyond borders and even beyond the capacity of human kind.

So when the brain breaks down, the hope is totally gone. The imagination of good things is lost forever. This is possible to happen when depression works in the brain.

Depression Activated

When depression is finally inside the brain which could be caused by a chemical imbalance such as defective neurotransmitters irregularly functioning, it continues on and on. Defective neurotransmitters cause the delay or lack of information relayed from neuron to another.

Another arena on where and how depression works in the brain is the glutamate. This substance in the brain is developed to make proteins. Take note that proteins are essential to brain development. So, if depression attacks glutamate, it may result to an imbalanced brain.

Depression Damages the Brain

The subject involves mood swings which mean that a possible situational disorder may result. When the brain is damaged because of depression, there is likely a difficulty remembering good things, places, people and even memories. When the brain is weak, decision making becomes a tough task. So, if the brain is defective, a sound decision may not be attained by an individual. The skill to plan things out and setting of priorities will likely be gone if that is the case.

So, imagine these things happening to you. They are definitely depressing. They rock and destruct a used-to-be peaceful and harmonious life. After all, taking care of the brain is very important.

If you don’t want this to happen, do not overuse your brain. Take time in thinking of things because it might only result to an outbreak. Do not rush. Let the deepest recesses of the brain talk to you. At times, all the answers are in our brain, we just didn’t take the time to think well.
